Cabinet Construction

Frameless (Euro) Cabinets

8425682Frameless construction refers to the construction of cabinets using engineered panel material usually melamine with a particleboard or medium density fibreboard core, or wood veneers on a plywood core.  The cabinet boxes are faced with a matching edgetape rather than the wood overlay frame in face frame cabinets.  Doors on frameless cabinets overlay the cabinet box to cover the edge.  By eliminating the face frame, you can have more room to get objects inside with more usable space.  Park Cabinets constructs all its cabinets using frameless construction.

Face Frame Cabinets

A face frame in cabinet making is the frame fixed to the front of a cabinet box which covers the edges of the box and is how the doors are attached.  A face frame provides strength to the front of a cabinet and is also considered a visual feature of particular styles of furniture.

Face frames are a more traditional cabinetry and have generally been replaced  by frameless cabinets.      Park Cabinets does not make or sell face frame cabinets.
